Job Position: Dental Hygienist

Location: Detroit, MI 48214

Pay Rate: $45.00 – $55.00 Per hour

Description: Registered Dental Hygienist
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri – 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Wednesday’s 9:30 am – 6:00 pm. 30 minutes unpaid lunch.
Scrubs and comfortable walking shoes.
Pay Rate: $45 -$55 per hour

Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments.
Examines lymph nodes under patient’s chin to detect swelling or tenderness. Examines gums for sores and signs of diseases.
Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instruments trays, prepares materials, and assist dentist during dental procedures as needed.
Takes and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
Expose dental diagnostic x-rays.
Assists dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies.
Provide clinical services and health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients.
Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs. Recommend treatment programs for patients.
Greet patients as they arrive, verify records, direct patients to appropriate areas, and answer telephone calls.
Prepares exam rooms with equipment and supplies as needed for examination procedures; cleans and restocks examining rooms as necessary.
Attends and participates in Health Center conferences and meetings as requested.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene

CERT/FICA TION/LICENSE:
Possession of State Dental Hygienist License.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Dental Hygienist. Knowledge of dental hygiene theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures to administer patient care.
