Description: Dental Receptionist:
Seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist for a full time position in the Pontiac area. The Dental Receptionist is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations. You’ll manage front-desk responsibilities, coordinate appointments, handle administrative tasks, and support both patients and the clinical team. This position is Monday through Friday, business hours with one late day on Monday’s until 7:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients warmly upon arrival and check them in/out.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments efficiently using practice management software.
Answer phones promptly and professionally, routing calls and taking detailed messages.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, explain coverage to patients, and assist with treatment plan estimates.
Collect co-payments, process payments, and manage patient accounts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records (demographic and insurance information)
Prepare and send new-patient paperwork, consent forms, and correspondence.
Manage patient flow to keep the schedule running on time while minimizing wait times.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, fax, and email correspondence.
Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary forms and supplies.
Assist with light billing tasks, insurance claims submission/follow-up, and account reconciliation.
Coordinate with dental assistants and hygienists regarding patient readiness and special needs.
Comply with HIPAA and OSHA regulations at all times.


Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or certification in office administration a plus)
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a dental or medical front office (preferred)
Proficient with dental practice management software
Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, billing codes, and claims processes
Excellent phone etiquette and verbal/written communication skills
Exceptional customer service attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
Professional appearance and demeanor
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
